Broughton Road besieged by traffic

Dear Spurtle

Whilst I empathise with our neighbours on Albany Street facing peak traffic levels of 500 vehicles per hour last year [Issue 216], spare a thought for those of us living on Broughton Road.

Traffic levels here peak at 766 vehicles per hour in the morning and 833 in the afternoon, according to the last traffic count in November 2012. I can personally testify that the effects on us are just as acute as they are for the residents of Albany Street.

Despite peak traffic levels along Broughton Road being more than 50% higher than those on Albany Street, it seems that we are easy to ignore.

I have attached the Council traffic count report (see Extras, 11.1.13).

 Regards

Suzie Bruce
