With the picture of your lovely gas light in mind [Issues 194–5], when you are next in the West End have a look at the new old lights on William Street and Alva Street – there’s a tiny bit of fettling to get the lantern design 100% accurate, but its an excellent start.
Given that the standards will last a very long time, they represent good long-term value for the city too.
