Dear Spurtle
During a recent visit to Herculaneum, the UNESCO World Hertitage Site in Southern Italy, I was struck by the state of the roads there compared to our own UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Does UNESCO not have an opinion on City of Edinburgh Council filling our historic cobbled streets with slabs of unsightly and unsympathetic tarmac? The city is slowly losing it’s dignity bit by bit.
