Most people's rubbish collection service will be as reliable and convenient as usual over the holiday period, although no uplifts will take place on Christmas Day and New Year's Day Wednesdays.
These have been rescheduled to the Saturdays of 28 December and 4 January.
Special uplifts will be especially unavailable on the Tuesdays 24 December and 7 January.
If you don't have a secluded cul de sac, roundabout or railway siding near your home, you can recycle your Christmas tree by, first:
- Removing any decorations and relations from it
- Taking off the stand
- Cutting in half if over 6ft tall (the tree, not you or your relations).
Do not place in a plastic bag as this, clearly, makes it absolutely impossible for collectors to deal with.
If you have a brown bin, put your tree beside it on the kerb by 6am on the next garden waste collection day. (Enter your postcode here to check dates.)
If you don't have a brown bin and can't be bothered to dump your tree beside someone else's, put it beside the communal wheelie bin on Monday 6, 13, 20 January (if you live in the Centre), or Wednesday 8. 15, 22 January (if you live in the North).
