Poppy has been found! writes a relieved Spurtle reader.
My wife picked her up early this morning. She [Poppy] had been hiding out in the Heriot Hill Nursery which backs onto our garden. A member of staff said they had noticed food being nibbled at and 'other' signs of feline activity. Seems Poppy had sought shelter there during a recent biblical downpour and had been hiding during the day.
My wife coaxed her out from her hidey-hole and – in a tear-jerking scene reminiscent of the best Hollywood movies – Poppy scampered towards her 'Mummy' to be reunited. She [Poppy] had forgotten she didn't like being picked up.
I would be very grateful if you could convey a heartfelt thanks to the management and staff of Heriot Hill Nursery and all those who took the time and effort to call with information and sightings. Especially Tony the Big Issue vendor at Broughton Road Tesco, who was very helpful. Last, but not least, the wonderful Spurtle for including an article in the online edition. Copious amounts of thank-you confectionery is on its way to the nursery staff.
