In Issue 187 we reported the mystifying non-delivery of polling cards to local addresses in May, or possibly the mystifying non-non-delivery of polling cards.
Thankfully, Bellevue resident David Sterratt has now stepped forward with some concrete assertions, and has sent us a copy of his recent email to Tom Aitchison, Chief Executive at City of Edinburgh Council. We urge other readers to do likewise.

I have just read an article in this month's Broughton Spurtle about
polling cards not being delivered at the last election:

This has reminded me that I should have reported a long time ago that
neither I nor my wife had polling cards delivered to our
flat, in Bellevue Road, at the General Election. The lack of
polling cards did not stop us voting, but it did cause some uncertainty
before the election, and in general, if some voters receive polling
cards whilst others do not, the system is not as fair as it could be.
At the polling station we mentioned the lack of polling cards, and were
told that there had been other voters reporting not having received
polling cards.
I am sorry not to have written sooner, but I hope this information may
still be of some use to your investigation.
