Are you sick of stickers? Do you find graffiti grates? Does fly-posting really cheese you off?
Stop moaning, then, and do something practical to help clean-up the neighbourhood.
Teams of 4 or more will meet on 9 May to start smartening up local streets, including:
- Antigua Street
- Broughton Street Lane
- Brunswick Street
- Elm Row (north and south)
- Gayfield Square (around the park)
- Montgomery Street
- Picardy Place
- Union Place
- Union Street (down to Forth Street)
- West Montgomery Place.
A map showing who will go where appears below.
Alternatively they can use high-tec wipes, long-handled scrapers, litter pickers, hand brushes, cable snips, pressure hoses and futuristic graffiti sprays.
The mighty ‘Nordic Pioneer’ will deploy a smorgasbord of specialist equipment on areas of graffiti bigger than 1 sq.m.
Goggles and rubber gloves will be supplied.
Meet on Friday 9 May at 9.45am outside Valvona and Crolla (those working all day break at noon for a free snack lunch at V&C) and/or from 1.30–3.00pm.
You can spend as little or as long as you like – all time contributions will be appreciated.
To help with the planning, please let Community Safety Officer Mark Robinson know in advance if you intend to attend: Tel. 529 7090; email mark.robinson@edinburgh.gov.uk
