Brace yourselves Broughton! This Sunday morning our quiet and respectable corner of town will be visited by Scotland’s biggest limo.
That can mean only one thing: Whisky Kiss are heading off to T in the Park! We are getting picked up outside the Broughton Delicatessen on Barony Street in the hulking Hummer, before crossing into the Kingdom of Fife and on to Balado.
Apparently Balado is Scotland’s sixth largest settlement at this time of year, knocking Paisley into a distant seventh. Not many people know that, and fewer still mourn for Paisley when they hear. The Inverclyde metropolis tends to be better known for its patterns than its patter these days, and I suppose Whisky Kiss are delighted to be playing Balado instead this particular weekend!

On Saturday night, though, we're off to do a pre-T gig near Newcastle. Promises to be a very exclusive affair, but I nearly fell off my chair when I saw the exact address. We’re playing at a plush venue in a place called Chathill. Chat Hill??? It sounds like the Blarney Stone on a slope!
If Alan Partridge were indeed a saviour, then this would have to be his Calvary. I can’t wait to see it.
Then on Sunday, of course, we hit T in the Park. We really, genuinely can’t wait, and if you know anyone going, tell them they won’t regret hitting the Ceilidh Tent from 5–7pm on the Sunday. We promise to be spectacular!!
More to follow as the weekend takes shape …
