ISSUE 335 – OUT SOON!
As you read this, advance copies of the December/January Spurtle are already dusting Broughton like the first snowflakes of winter. Only with words printed on them.
Page 1 is action-packed with over-the-top dullness, hyperactivity on defects, pavements and fume-belchers, an ongoing mystery, a fond farewell, and more of the same fun and games around short-term lets. Also, an unconventionally beautiful girl with a fan.
STUDENT HOUSING REFUSED
London-based HUB Residential Ltd’s application to develop 73-bedroom purpose-built student accommodation at 26 Dunedin St (23/05027/FUL) has been refused. We first reported the case here.
THE MEDDLING PROFESSOR
Spurtle readers may be interested in a new article (by me) on the political theorist and writer Professor Bernard Crick, writes Charlie Ellis.
‘The Meddling Professor: Bernard Crick’s Active Defence of Politics’ appears in the latest issue of Scottish Affairs, Scotland’s longest running journal on contemporary political and social issues.
